Don Antonio Leano Alvarez del Castillo passed away

On the night of Saturday July the 3rd at the age of 96 years of age, the noble heart  of don Antonio Leano Alvarez del Castillo stopped  beating.
He was the founder of the Independent University  of Guadalajara and first commander of the Pentathlon in the state of Jalisco in 1939 along with Carlos Cuesta Gallardo and his brother Angel Leano who was a member of the Pentathlon , the first private University in Mexico.

Members of the circle of students from the University  in the year of 1938 that  founded the Pentathlon in Mexico City: Jorge Jimenez Cantu, Jose Luis Curiel Banfield, Gines Navarro, Armando Govea, Fued Masi and others, a league of young and very extraordinary Mexicans at the time, influenced by the philosophy of intellectuals like Jose Basconselos, Samuel Ramos and Osvaldo Robles.
An escort of Pentathlon Infantry and cavalry Cadets from the state of Jalisco and the martial presence of the national color guard as well as the bugler in elegant uniforms of grand gala put a splendid note to the funeral honors.
